They week before Thanksgiving I spent from Sunday afternoon to midday Wednesday at my station camp in the pursuit of deer. On Monday I was joined by Bill Rundorff and by my dad, Gerald Davis, on Tuesday. We had great fun, but alas no deer were to be had. Here are a few pictures.

Hey, Ty,

Great shelter setup. Back your way, do you get more than one deer for each tag you buy, or one, only? In some States, they are almost begging you to shoot more deer per tag. Not in CA, though... Looks like a nice camp, even if you didn't make meat. Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Mark,

A regular license in GA gets you 12 deer and you can still apply for quota hunts.

Hello,Ty

I guess it's been a while since I've been burnin' wood at your campfire because the shelter looks new to me. I have seen pix but I don't think I've squatted in there yet. Looks awesome! Would there be any merit to chinkin' the walls with mud & moss?
And for a couple of guys, perhaps put up a tarp closer to the front and put a fire in-between for those Yukon-like Georgia weekends? Then of course, sitting with a cup in your hand and watchin' someone else gather the mud sounds like a better plan!

Your deer camp sounded like great fun. Hope to see you guys one day soon.

We did chink some of the logs. I hope to add more logs and shake roof. At that point I will chink it all in. We are also planning add another one directly across the fire pit. Two shelters with a fire in the middle should be nice.
